What Owner Operators Really Need to Know About Southeast Regional Flatbed Work

If you're a flatbed owner-operator looking for regional work in the Southeast, you already know the landscape: spot market rates swing wildly, communication from some carriers is nonexistent, and too many companies promise home time they can't deliver.

At Barry's Truck Line, we've been doing this since 1989 — and we've built our operation around the things that actually matter to independent operators.

Home Time Is Not Negotiable

Regional Southeast work means shorter lanes and predictable schedules. Our routes are designed to keep you moving through North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, and beyond — and home on weekends. We know drivers have families and lives outside the cab.

Steady Freight You Can Count On

We haul construction materials, lumber, and landscape products to major retail distribution centers, Lowe's, Home Depot, and lumber mills. These are not one-off spot loads — this is consistent, planned freight.

What We Look For in a Partner

We're not looking for just anyone. We want experienced, professional owner-operators who take their operation seriously. You'll need your own authority, a 48-foot flatbed, tarps, and current insurance and DOT compliance. In return, you get a partner who communicates, pays promptly, and respects your time.

Based in Whiteville, NC. Running the Southeast.

We're a family-owned operation based in Columbus County, North Carolina. Barry Inman has been in this business for over 30 years, and the team he's built reflects that — experienced, straightforward, and relationship-driven.
